Malmark Handbell D6-G6

By donating $200, a soprano handbell will be dedicated to you! Beautiful music will be made at PLU for years to come because of your donation.

Malmark Handbell A5-C#6

Beautiful music will be made by PLU students on a handbell that you bought!

Malmark Handbell D5-G#5

By donating $300, a medium-sized handbell will be purchased and dedicated to you!

Malmark Handbell G4-C#5

Lower-pitched handbells are much larger than higher-pitched handbells. The extra amount of brass makes the cost of these lower bells more expensive than their higher-pitched counterparts. By donating $350, a large handbell will be purchased and dedicated to you!

Thank You for Your Gift

Our success relies on the generosity of our community. A gift today will have a lasting impact, and we are so grateful for it.

About The Campaign

Who are the PLU Ringers?

Handbells are part of a long-standing musical tradition in sacred music and more recently in school and secular music.  PLU Ringers want them to become part of the musical tradition at PLU!  We formed a club in 2016 and started ringing with handchimes.  In the fall of 2017, we were invited to rehearse at Trinity Lutheran and use their handbells--but primarily only at Trinity.  Bells have a unique and beautiful sound.  We have rung with PLU choirs and will be giving our own concert on May 19, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. in Lagerquist Concert Hall.  Please join us if you'd like to hear the music we're exploring with handbells!

What we want to do

We want to ultimately gift a 5-octave set of handbells to the PLU Department of Music and ring them often at PLU and in the community!  Below there are examples of how much it costs for bells of different sizes--the bigger the bell, the more it costs.  We also need to purchase special foam covered tables, music racks for the tables, and mallets.  Please help us get started by either donating an amount of your choice, or choosing an amount that will buy a particular bell (from the list below).  Bells are numbered by octave--the lower the number, the lower the pitch, and the bigger the bell (3s are lowest, 8s are highest). 2.1
