PLU Lūʻau 2018

This crowdfunding project is no longer active, but if you would still like to support the Hawai'i Club or Asian Pacific Islander Student Association, you can do so here (just make a note in the donation comments field).

Pacific Lutheran University's Hawai`i Club and the Asian Pacific Islander Student Association have strived to create a sense of family, community and belonging for the past several years by sharing the love of the different cultures we grew up with.  Both of our programs have come together to host our second annual lūʻau at PLU.  Last year was our first lūʻau in nearly 10 years, and it was a success thanks to our committees, families, friends, donors, and everyone who supported us throughout the journey!  Our organizations have grown in the past years, and you can help us continue on this voyage by donating to the lūʻau so that we can maintain a strong sense of self and community pride of our heritage as we explore through the islands of the Pacific.

No donation is too small! We thank you in advance for your support. Donors will be honorably mentioned during Lūʻau, included in our complimentary program, and listed on our wall of donors (unless you opt to remain anonymous).

About The Campaign

Ka Leo o Ka Pākīpika

This year the theme of our lūʻau is Ka Leo o Ka Pākīpika: "The Voices of the Pacific." Our event will be held on Saturday, April 21st at Pacific Lutheran University's Olson Gymnasium.  We chose this theme because we wanted to incorporate the different cultures along the islands of the Pacific such as Hawaiian, Tahitian, Samoan, New Zealand and Philippines. We love sharing this event with the community because it gives us the opportunity to share the Aloha spirit and diverse cultures through song, dance, and food! We invite you to celebrate this occasion that invites us all to come together to “talk story,” make memories, and get a taste of the various cultures we're going to present! 2.1

Our `Ohana

Our team is made up of members from Hawai`i Club and the Asian Pacific Islander Student Association. All of us love putting on this production for the PLU community, our friends and family, and for the public.  Both of our clubs love to share our cultures through different social activities and we know that this production will bring everybody together to do that. We invite you to voyage through the islands of the Pacific and allow us us to carry it on for the next several years!
